On the seventh day… 15 potential candidates submit their papers for the House of Representatives elections in Sohag

The committee supervising the receipt of applications for candidacy for the 2025 House of Representatives elections in Sohag Governorate, headed by Counselor Abdel Nasser Tayeb, President of the Sohag Court of First Instance and Chairman of the Application Receiving Committee, continues its work for the seventh day in a row, amid tight organizational and security measures at the committee’s headquarters inside the Sohag Courts Complex.

Receiving requests for elections to the House of Representatives in Sohag

The seventh day of receiving applications witnessed a turnout of potential candidates in a number of electoral districts in the governorate, as 15 candidates submitted their nomination papers to compete for individual seats.

In the Mansha Center constituency, Hani Ahmed Hilali, Ismail Mazhar Abu Kreisha, Muhammad al-Amir Muhammad Ahmed Murad Abu Kreisha, and Waheed Mahrous al-Sayyid all ran as independent individual candidates.

In the Markaz and Bandar Sohag constituency, Alaa Mustafa Jaber and Mohamed El-Sayed Siddiq also ran as independent individual candidates.

The Maragha constituency also witnessed the advancement of candidate Saeed Mahmoud Hafez, while Sarah Mahmoud Ahmed submitted her papers to run in the Tahta constituency as an independent individual candidate.

In the Girga and Asirat central constituencies, Mohamed Raafat Riyad, an independent individual, Mahran Amin Mahran, and Hana Ahmed Shehata Khallaf, represented the Egyptian National Party.

While the Akhmim and Saqalta districts witnessed former MP Ahmed Wael Al-Mushanab submit his nomination papers as an independent individual candidate.

In the Dar es Salaam Center constituency, Nihad Faraj Abbas and Moataz Hassan Hafez ran as independents.

In the fourth district in Tahta, Mahmoud Ibrahim Abu Aqil, an independent individual, came forward.

This brings the total to 162 candidates so far, and the committee continues to receive nomination applications daily during the dates specified by the National Elections Authority, until the nomination window officially closes in the coming days.
