Aswan University celebrated the International Teacher Day, during a celebration organized by the College of Education under the patronage of Dr. Louay Saad Eddin Nusrat, Acting President of the University, and in the presence of a group of academic, educational, graduates and students.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of Dr. Ashraf Imam Abdel Radi, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Khairi Ahmed Hussein, Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Saeed Mohamed Siddiq, Vice -Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and a group of professors and guests from various educational and religious institutions.
In his speech, Dr. Louay Saad Eddin Nusrat stressed the high position of the education profession, stressing that the teacher’s message is an extension of the messages of the prophets, as it is not limited to transferring knowledge, but also includes building personality and the future industry, adding that the colleges of education are the main pillar in preparing educational cadres capable of adapting to the developments of the age and keeping pace with the requirements of the labor market, locally and regionally.
Nasr added, that the University of Aswan puts among its priorities the graduation of teachers who possess the skills of the twenty -first century, able to make a qualitative shift in the education system, through academic and educational programs in keeping with the comprehensive development that Egypt is witnessing in the education sector.
The celebration included various artistic paragraphs and discretionary words that express gratitude as the role of teachers, and highlight their contributions to enhancing the values of knowledge and building human being, with the consolidation of their role in achieving sustainable development.
Teacher preparation criteria
On the sidelines of the event, the college organized a forum for colleges of education and the needs of the labor market, where the forum dealt with an expanded discussion session chaired by Dr. Saeed Mohamed Seddik, Vice -Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and was moderated by Dr. Hatem Farghali, Dr. Sarah Abdel Samie and Dr. Ahmed Khalil, to discuss the standards of teacher preparation in light of the skills of the twenty -first century, ways to develop curricula and teacher preparation programs to keep up with transformations in the labor market Educational.
The celebration also witnessed the presence of a number of prominent educational leaders, among them Dr. Ahmed Kamel Al -Rashidi, Dr. Hassan Allam, Dr. Radi Adly, the deans of the former College of Education and a number of educational work pioneers in Aswan Governorate, as well as a distinguished participation of graduates, researchers and students, who expressed their gratitude for their professors and their role in shaping their awareness and building their future.
It is noteworthy that this event comes as an affirmation of the commitment of Aswan University to its educational mission, and its constant keenness to support and honor the teacher, as the cornerstone of the renaissance of nations and the pillar of human development.
