In his early days, he joined the Fouad I Institute of Music, then began performing songs on the radio. Fawzi performed dozens of songs that the audience connected with, such as: Shahat Al-Gharam, Oh New Light, Samra, O Samra, You fill my heart, my love, My love and his eyes. He also composed for great singers such as Laila Murad, Shadia, Narges Shawky, Fayza Ahmed, Najat Al-Saghira, and others.

His contribution was not limited to art as a singer or composer, but he also founded the first record production factory in the Middle East in 1958 under the name Misr Phone, which later became the nucleus of the Voice of Cairo, and he was keen to spread Egyptian art inside and outside the country.

He also presented many cinematic works, including: Fatima, Marika and Rachel, Every Beat in My Heart, Bint Bariz, His Excellency, and he presented many songs for children, the most famous of which is: Mama Zamanha is Coming, which is still broadcast today.

Muhammad Fawzi lived a painful human story at the end of his life, after suffering from a rare disease that causes muscular atrophy, which led to him losing a lot of weight and his voice, which affected him psychologically. He died on October 20, 1966, at the age of 48, leaving behind an immortal artistic legacy, which is still studied and told about.
