His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen bridges of cooperation with the Republic of China in the sports field, based on the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries.
This came when His Highness received President of the Chinese Olympic Committee and Minister of Sports of the People’s Republic of China, Gao Zhidan, on the occasion of his attendance at the Third Asian Youth Games.
His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa welcomed Gao Zhidan, and His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated Minister Zhao Zhidan on the People’s Republic of China topping the overall standings in the third Asian Youth Games, wishing them all the best and success.
During the meeting, ways to enhance joint cooperation and coordination between the two countries in the sports field were discussed, in a way that contributes to developing the sports system and raising the levels of sports performance at the administrative and technical levels. Opportunities for exchanging expertise and successful experiences between the Olympic committees and sports institutions in the two countries were also reviewed.
For his part, Zhao Zhidan praised the great success witnessed by Bahrain in organizing the third Asian Youth Games, noting that His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has a prominent role in enhancing Bahrain’s position on the map of Asian and international sports.
