The Southern Region Municipal Council unanimously agreed to submit a recommendation to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture to address the concerned authorities regarding the establishment of a one-way “entry only” access from Sheikh Issa Street towards Road No. 1114 in Block 911 in East Riffa.

Member of the Municipal Council, representative of the Eighth District, Ali Al-Sheikh, explained that the proposal aims to create an entry point only from Sheikh Issa Street towards Route 1114, without allowing exit from it, due to the narrowness of the street and its unsuitability for vehicle movement in both directions, which was explained through the pictures attached to the proposal.

He pointed out that this proposal came in response to a large number of requests and complaints received from residents in the area, due to their daily suffering from the difficulty of entering and exiting the residential neighborhood because the current road is impermeable, which causes frequent traffic congestion, especially at peak times.

The Sheikh added that establishing the proposed outlet would facilitate traffic and reduce congestion on the lively street along which many shops and restaurants are spread. He stressed that the proposed location is considered the most suitable for establishing the required outlet, and that there is no objection from the owner of the house adjacent to the site.
