The Municipal Council of the Southern Region approved a request to acquire a property in the Al-Buhair region to establish a government health center, submitted by the Chairman of the Municipal Council, Abdullah Abdul Latif, and it was decided to submit the request to the competent authorities to take the necessary measures.
Abdul Latif stressed that the Al-Bahir region lacks a government health center, and that the neighboring health centers are relatively far from the region, which constitutes an increasing burden on the people, especially with the noticeable increase in population density and the large urban expansion that the region is witnessing, which has led to increased pressure on existing health services.
He explained that establishing a health center in the region would enhance health security and rapid response to emergency situations, whether accidents or critical cases, in addition to reducing the need to travel long distances to receive treatment in neighboring areas, which would reflect positively on the quality of health care provided to the population.
Abdul Latif added that property ownership achieves the principle of social justice, especially in remote or less fortunate areas, by ensuring a fair distribution of health services in line with the goals of urban planning and sustainable development. He pointed out that the project will contribute to raising the value of the lands surrounding the property and stimulating economic development by attracting more investments and providing new job opportunities for the people of the region.
