The annual movement of local leaders, which was approved by the Ministry of Local Development, includes 164 appointments and transfers at the republic level, where 15 general secretaries and assistant general secretaries were appointed. The movement also witnessed the exclusion of 15 leaders who did not achieve the required efficiency in their performance, which reflects the ministry’s keenness to introduce new blood into various positions.

Major General Muhammad Moawad Akl is a prominent figure with a strong academic background, as he obtained many military and academic degrees, including a doctorate degree with distinction from the Military College, in addition to a master’s degree in public and local administration. He also combines many practical experiences in various positions that contributed to the development of his performance in government work.

Assuming many previous positions, such as the presidency of the Customs District, the presidency of Burj Al Arab City Center, and the presidency of several districts in Cairo and Alexandria, will enable Major General Akl to make the most of his previous experiences in developing the performance of local authorities and enhancing the quality of services provided to citizens, which reflects the Ministry of Local Development’s orientation towards achieving comprehensive development.

Minister Manal Awad confirms that the goal of this movement is to ensure the presence of leaders capable of achieving achievement and innovation at work, by enhancing the principles of transparency and discipline, which will be focused on during the coming period to build a more efficient local administrative structure, and respond to the requirements of citizens in all governorates.
