The nights of the 33rd session of the Arab Music Festival and Conference, which bears the name of the Planet of the East, Umm Kulthum, continued on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of her passing. It is organized by the Ministry of Culture through the Egyptian Opera House, headed by Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam, and managed by Maestro Tamer Ghoneim and his deputy, Maestro Dr. Mohamed Al-Mogy, under the supervision of Amani Al-Saeed, advisor to the president of the opera.
On the Nafoura stage, amidst a large crowd, the whispers of heritage mixed with the pulse of the present rose, and the voice of the star Mohamed Al-Helou flowed, accompanied by the maestro Dr. Mohamed Al-Moji, to embrace the feelings and evoke the time of fine art, and with his deep tones, he reviewed examples of his works that form part of the conscience of Arabic music, including Zizinia, Al-Wusiya, Layali Al-Helmeya, Arraf, Oh My Love, Ahim. After him, Reham Abdel Hakim spun threads of rapture that combined the motifs of the past and the sparkle of the contemporary, and included the sweet of my country, the love that was, it looks good, had it not been for the blame, your eyes are summer nights, far from you, henna, Solomon’s ring, the sweetest gift, our nights, on your voice, and my life is with you, Umm Kulthum’s medal, there is something sweet in it.
The stars of Arabic music in the opera, Walid Haider and Hanan Essam, renewed the connection between the audience and the treasures of the singing heritage, and with skill they succeeded in performing “Blink his eyelash, withdraw his eyelash,” “We are not deprived of age,” “His black eyes hurt me,” “All those who blamed me,” “I love you,” say it to the world.
As the evening ended, the message of the Ministry of Culture and the Opera House emerged to consolidate the goal of the Arab Music Festival and Conference, which aims to preserve heritage and present it in its finest form.
