Meat unfit for human consumption was seized and 411 reports were issued at the centres

The Supply Directorate in Assiut Governorate, and its sub-departments, launched intensive supply campaigns on a number of the governorate’s centres, including traffic and inspections of municipal, tourist and French bakeries, commercial stores, markets, warehouses, butane depots and gas stations, in addition to ration operators and my association’s projects.

This comes in implementation of the directives of Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, to intensify ration campaigns in various parts of the governorate. To control the markets and address trading violations and commercial fraud.

Khaled Muhammad Ahmed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Assiut, said that the Supply Directorate and its various departments launched a number of joint campaigns in cooperation with Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Rashwan Al-Zaidi, Head of Supply Investigations, and Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Abdel Karim, Undersecretary of the Department, to ensure the extent of shops and establishments’ compliance with ration laws and decisions.

The campaigns resulted in the seizure and editing of a number of reports, as follows:

First: In the field of markets, 135 kilograms of meat, chicken, liver, minced meat, poultry and fish products unfit for human consumption were seized, counterfeit electrical wires for famous brands were seized, car oils of unknown origin were seized, detergents and cosmetics without invoices were seized, expired paints were seized, and 22 subsidized local flour checks were collected illegally.

2 reports were issued to butane warehouses for disposing of 118 small-sized cylinders, 8 reports were issued for closing butane warehouses, 12 reports were issued for not announcing the prices of butane gas cylinders to warehouses and young graduates, 4 reports were issued for selling butane cylinders at more than the official price, 3 reports were issued for not keeping an inspection record, 8 closure reports were issued for catering merchants, 4 reports were issued for practicing an activity without a license, and 4 reports were issued for selling butane cylinders at more than the official price. Reports for selling cigarettes at more than the prescribed price, 22 reports for failure to advertise prices in shops, cafes and commercial restaurants, and 5 reports for employees not carrying health certificates.

Second: In the field of bakeries, 333 reports were issued for municipal bakeries, varying between reports of underweight, poor specifications, lack of cleanliness, lack of an advertising data board, closure with iron locks, partial cessation of production, lack of a scale, disposal of quantities of flour, and failure to give cash to citizens.
