
In a new national achievement that reflects the distinguished position of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Arab and international parliamentary forums, the Chairman of the Services Committee of the House of Representatives and a member of the Arab Parliament won the position of Vice President of the Arab Parliament, during the plenary session of the Arab Parliament, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, for the fourth legislative term.
This victory comes as a culmination of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s honorable journey under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in supporting joint Arab parliamentary work, and a true embodiment of the vision of the House of Representatives led by Ahmed Al Muslim, which continues to support the efforts of Bahraini parliamentary diplomacy in representing the nation in an optimal manner, and expanding the circles of parliamentary influence in various regional and international issues.
Representative Mamdouh Al-Saleh confirmed, in a statement following the announcement of his victory, that this achievement does not only represent his person, but rather is the result of the unlimited support that His Excellency the Speaker of the House of Representatives, along with all members of the House, gives to national parliamentary diplomacy, which has been able in record time to become established as a balanced voice in regional and international forums. He said: “I dedicate this victory to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Al Muslim, who supported and directed our parliamentary journey with all sincerity and competence.”
Al-Saleh added, “Nominating and winning this position comes from the standpoint of our national and parliamentary duty to strengthen the Bahraini presence in Arab institutions, and to contribute effectively to building a unified Arab parliamentary position, especially towards crucial issues, most notably the Palestinian issue.” He pointed out that the next stage will witness effective movement to strengthen joint Arab action within the framework of the Arab Parliament, and develop its oversight, legislative and diplomatic mechanisms, stressing the importance of strengthening coordination with Arab parliamentary unions and councils, and building bridges of dialogue with regional and international parliaments.
Representative Al-Saleh’s victory received wide praise from members of the Arab Parliament and his colleagues in the House of Representatives, stressing that this success is a clear result of the Bahraini parliamentary diplomacy approach based on balance, effectiveness, and adherence to national and Arab constants.
In this context, a member of the Arab Parliament, Representative Dr. Hisham Al-Ashiri praised the pioneering role of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Al-Musallam, in consolidating the principle of institutional partnership and integration between national action and external forums, and his continued support for members of Bahraini parliamentary delegations, in a way that enhances the Kingdom’s position in various legislative platforms.
