Representative Jalal Kazem Al-Mahfouz stressed the necessity of introducing an allowance to improve living conditions that includes all workers in the private sector and business owners whose monthly income does not exceed 1,500 dinars.

He explained that this initiative could bring about a noticeable change in the living conditions of a large segment of citizens, in addition to contributing to achieving balance and justice between public and private sector employees.

Al-Mahfouz pointed out that approving the living improvement allowance will leave a tangible positive impact on the lives of workers in the private sector, especially those groups that suffer from stagnation or low wages.

He pointed out that state employees enjoy a living improvement allowance and a social allowance, which are incentives that encourage many citizens to choose between the two sectors in favor of government work, which is considered more attractive in terms of income and benefits.

The MP stated that most of his office’s visitors are workers in the private sector who suffer from difficult living conditions and seek to improve their conditions through better job opportunities in the government sector, while job seekers constitute only a small percentage of the visitors. This reflects the urgent need to take serious steps to improve the standard of living for workers in the private sector.
