Dr. Mohamed Fathi Afifi, Director of the Technical Support Project for the Ministry of Local Development, made an inspection visit to the Esna Market for Vegetables and Fruits, as part of the plan to develop markets and public facilities in the governorate, within the framework of Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, and under the auspices of Eng. Abdel Muttalib, the governor of Luxor.
A field visit to follow up on the development work of the vegetable and fruit market in Esna
During the visit, Major General Ahmed Ramadan, head of the drinking water and sanitation company in Luxor, and a number of leaders of the local administration, were accompanied by the tour, as the tour targeted the current situation of the current market, and inspected the proposed new site to transport the market, ensuring improving the work environment and raising the level of services provided to merchants and citizens.
Dr. Afifi explained that the technical support project for the Ministry is participating in preparing the technical design of the new project, in line with modern civilizational and environmental standards, and contributes to creating an organized and safe economic environment within the city of Esna.

The visit included listening to the opinions and proposals of merchant representatives to ensure that the proposed design of their actual needs, enhances the chances of the project’s success and its sustainability, and achieves integration between economic and social development.

For his part, the Governor of Luxor, Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, stressed that the governorate pays great attention to the project to develop the Esna market because of its direct impact on the daily lives of citizens and support for the commercial movement inside the city.
He pointed out that the project comes within an integrated plan to develop markets and public facilities within the framework of Egypt’s 2030 vision, which aims to achieve sustainable local development and improve the quality of services provided to citizens.
