His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the Third Asian Youth Games, Chairman and members of the Executive Committee for the session, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice -President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee and His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Askar, CEO of the General Authority for Sports, and His Excellency Mr. Fares Mustafa Al -Kooheji, Secretary -General of the Olympic Committee and Mr. Youssef Daij, Chairman of the Executive Committee, in the context of his follow -up to the final preparations for the launch of the session that will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain during the period from 22 to 31 October under the generous sponsorship of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him.
During the meeting, His Highness briefed on the latest developments and technical and organizational reports submitted by the Executive Committee, where Mr. Youssef Duaij gave an integrated explanation about the readiness of sports facilities, arrangements for residence, transportation, security and media plans, ceremonies, protection, coronation and all other organizational aspects.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the great efforts made by the Executive Committee and the working committees and thanked them for their dedication during the last period, stressing that what has been accomplished so far and the praise that the Executive Committee received by the Asian Olympic Council and within a short period of receiving the Kingdom of Bahrain to host the event reflects the spirit of the one team and the complementarity between government and private agencies, and enhances Bahrain’s position as a leading sports destination in the region.
His Highness added, “The royal care of this continental sporting event places a great responsibility, and is pushing us to double efforts to ensure the organization of an extraordinary session befitting the name of Bahrain. We are proud of what has been achieved so far, and we consider the determination of the youth of the country and the efficiency of the work teams to make this event that is held for the first time on the land of the Kingdom …”
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa pointed out that this session represents a historical opportunity to highlight Bahrain’s organizational capabilities, and its commitment to enhancing the position of sport in society, not only by hosting championships and courses, but by building a sustainable sporting heritage that benefits future generations, and His Highness looks forward to this session to be a platform for inspiring young people and motivating them to distinguish to make Olympic champions from the Asian continent in various sports.
