Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is proud of the contributions of its men and the contributions of its people in various national work sites at home and abroad, in a way that strengthens its position and consolidates its effective presence in its Arab and international surroundings, in fulfillment of the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He pointed out that the national march undertaken by the people of Bahrain in various fields of responsibility represents a renewed wealth of giving and experience, calling for continuing to build on the achievements achieved and exchanging experiences between generations in a way that contributes to raising the level of work.
This came during a meeting in his office at Gudaibiya Palace with Ambassador Khalil Ibrahim Al-Thawadi, on the occasion of the end of his term in the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States as Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Arab Affairs and National Security Sector.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister praised the clear and extended imprints left over the past decades by Ambassador Al-Thawadi in various sectors, starting with his contributions to the development of Bahrain Radio and Television, and his role in advancing cultural work and preserving the national heritage through his supervision of the culture and heritage sector, through his membership in the Shura Council, and all the way to his diplomatic efforts through which he best represented the Kingdom in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the League of Arab States.
He also praised Ambassador Al-Thawadi’s valuable contributions to enriching the local press through his contributions to writing opinion articles that reflect his intellectual and national visions, praising the sober media discourse he provides that embodies the depth of his professional experience. During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister received a copy of the book “On Goodness and Love We Meet,” which includes a series of articles published by Ambassador Al-Thawadi in the local press over the past years.
For his part, Ambassador Khalil Ibrahim Al-Thawadi expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister for the warm meeting, stressing the support and interest he attaches to encouraging the people of Bahrain to continue contributing to the service and elevation of the nation.
