Director Kamla Abu Zekry was keen to congratulate artist Menna Shalaby, after she was honored at the eighth El Gouna Film Festival with the Creative Achievement Award for her artistic career.
Kamla Abu Zekry said, in her interview with Al-Nahar channel, on the sidelines of her attendance at the opening ceremony of the El Gouna Film Festival: Menna Shalabi is honest and real, as much as she is a great artist because of her honesty and her crazy love for this job, and she said, “Congratulations, you deserve a million honors, and you are a great artist, and I am lucky to have worked with you about love and passion and the oasis of sunset and the rise of the soul, and I hope we meet again and again.”
El Gouna Film Festival
The opening ceremony of the eighth El Gouna Film Festival began with the playing of the Egyptian National Anthem, followed by an introduction voiced by journalist Anas Bukhash, who accompanied the audience throughout the ceremony with his warm voice and calm presence, performing a series of audio comments that formed the humanitarian thread of the ceremony.
In its eighth session this year, the El Gouna Film Festival honors star Menna Shalaby by awarding her the “Creative Achievement” Award in honor of her distinguished artistic career and influential roles in Egyptian and Arab cinema. This year, the festival will witness the presence of international star Cate Blanchett as the festival’s guest of honor, where she will be honored with the “Heroine of Humanity” award in recognition of her artistic and humanitarian contributions.
