Israel was killed within the war of constant genocide in Gaza, 233 preachers and imams of Muslim mosques and preachers, along with 20 Christians, in its attacks that targeted the role of Islamic and Christian worship in the Strip.
The director of the government media office in Gaza, Ismail Al -Thawabta, said that Israel follows “brutal policies” aimed at dismantling the Palestinian society spiritually and morally, by targeting the clergy, and destroying mosques and churches, as well as hitting the civil structure.
In his speech to Anatolia – the constants stressed that religious scholars represent pillars in consolidating national and religious values, and strengthening the resilience in the face of aggression, noting that targeting them aims to “silence religious and national discourse, and create a spiritual and cultural vacuum that paves the way to impose the Israeli colonial novel.”
The Anatolia Agency monitored Israel’s targeting of a number of the most prominent preachers and imams of mosques, including Youssef Salama, who served as the Minister of Awqaf and the preacher of the Al -Aqsa Mosque, who was martyred in a raid on his home in Al -Maghazi camp.
The occupation also targeted the preacher Wael Al -Zard, known for his sermons and imamate in the mosques of the Gaza Strip, and died of his wounds after the bombing of his house in Gaza City.
In the Al -Sabra neighborhood, the preacher Walid Awaida was martyred with an Israeli bombing of his house, as he was the Director General of Memorization in the Ministry of Awqaf, and he is a member of the International Federation of Muslim Scholars.
According to the latest statistics, Israel has completely destroyed more than 835 mosques, and has caused partial damage to 180 other mosques, and also targeted 3 main churches in Gaza City several times, which led to the destruction of large parts of it.
The main churches in Gaza were subjected to direct shelling, despite their transformation into shelters for the displaced, as the constants stated that these attacks claimed the lives of more than 20 Christians, including women and children, the destruction of religious and educational facilities and safe homes.
Among the churches targeted by Israel in Gaza are the Church of St. Barawirius for the Greek Orthodox, the Church of the Holy Family (Latin/Catholics), and the Evangelical Church of the Baptists in the Strip.
The director of the government media office in Gaza also considered that these targets represent a “flagrant violation of the protection guaranteed by international humanitarian law for clerics and places of worship”, and promoted to a “war crime and religious persecution” according to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
Since October 7, 2023 – with American support – a war of genocide in Gaza, it left 67,139 martyrs, 169,583 wounded, most of whom are children and women, and the famine that has lost the lives of 460 Palestinians, including 154 children.
