The ICRC reported that 3 ships of the fleet were attacked during its sailing in international waters, about 120 nautical miles from the coast of Gaza.

She explained that the ships were carrying humanitarian aid and medicines for civilians, noting that among the target ships is the conscience ship carrying a number of journalists and doctors.

The committee indicated that the occupation forces were discussed on signals and communications before storming at least two ships from the convoy, which led to the interruption of communication with the rest of the participating ships.

She emphasized that the occupation army arrested about 150 international activists who were on board ships, and they were transferred to the port of Ashdod amid strict security measures, blaming Israel fully responsible for the safety of the solidarity and the international staff.

The committee called on the international community to move urgently to protect the participants in the fleet, and stop what it described as repeated Israeli piracy at sea against the humanitarian convoys heading to Gaza.

She explained that the fleet sailed from Italy with the participation of dozens of activists from several countries, as part of renewed international efforts aimed at ending the war on Gaza and breaking the siege imposed on it.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that its forces withdrew the ships to one of the ports in preparation for the deportation of activists, and described the operation as a new failed attempt to penetrate the maritime blockade imposed on Gaza.

This attack comes just a week after the occupation forces intercepted the global resilience fleet, which included about 45 ships carrying more than 450 international activists, including the Swedish environmental activist Gretta Tonberg, while rail in international waters towards the Strip.

A number of activists and human rights institutions, who were later released, confirmed that during their detention, they were subjected to torture and abuse by the occupation forces.
