In the presence of Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Fetais Al-Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, the General Administration of Sunni Endowments organized the annual ceremony for the “Preservation and Study of Scientific Texts” program, to celebrate the fruits of the blessed effort of a group of male and female students of Islamic sciences.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of Their Excellencies members of the Board of Directors of the Sunni Endowments, and a gathering of distinguished sheikhs and teachers, in addition to the honored students and their parents.
The ceremony began with a fragrant recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by one of the distinguished students in the program, to begin this blessed meeting.
Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Fetais Al-Hajri delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he welcomed the honorable audience, stressing that this program embodies the vision of the Sunni Endowments in serving Islamic knowledge and disseminating it among the people of society, in fulfillment of the mosque’s mission of education, education and guidance.
He pointed out that “caring for Islamic knowledge is one of the most noble and influential uses of the endowment, and that supporting such programs contributes to enhancing religious and intellectual awareness and consolidating authentic values in the souls of young people.”
He added that knowledge is not acquired by rest and is not achieved by wishing, but rather is obtained by memorization, struggle and perseverance, and that whoever memorizes texts acquires the arts, and from this standpoint, these blessed courses came to consolidate memorization and understanding together, and combine issues and evidence.
He explained that – thanks to God Almighty – nine Qur’anic advocacy centers participated in these courses, under the supervision of an educational staff of more than 48 male and female teachers, and more than 582 male and female students benefited from them, during which they memorized a number of texts in various arts such as doctrine, jurisprudence, intonation, language, remembrances, and others.
He stressed that the qualitative achievements achieved in the field of serving the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet are the fruit of the prosperous era of His Majesty the King of the country – may God protect and preserve him – who gave special care to forensic science. This support had a great impact in developing its paths and motivating its students, and the support of the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect and preserve him, is extremely important in the continuation of these courses that preserve the emerging Boys and girls.
The ceremony included a live performance, in which the program’s students presented examples of their distinguished portfolios and efforts, in which the audience heard a portion of their mastery and academic achievement.
In conclusion, His Excellency the Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council kindly honored the sheikhs, teachers, supervisors of scientific courses, the distinguished students who completed memorizing the entire course, and the students who completed memorizing some texts and were tested on them.
It is worth noting that the duration of the program this year is approximately 155 specialized academic hours, distributed over three main tracks: the introductory track for young people up to 15 years of age, the foundational track for beginners, and the advanced track for students of science, which included memorizing a number of approved scientific texts such as Tuhfat al-Atfal in Tajweed, the Hadith of Gabriel in the Fundamentals of Religion, Ibn Sanad’s system in jurisprudential rules, and the students’ taste in syntactic science.
