Students of the Egyptian-Japanese School in Sinai carried out a successful educational and creative experiment by making papyrus papers with their own hands and decorating them with authentic Pharaonic drawings, in celebration of the approaching opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which the world is awaiting next Saturday.
This came based on the directives of Adel Atlam, Director of the Directorate of Education in South Sinai, on the necessity of celebrating the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
This distinguished scientific experiment was part of science classes for fifth-grade primary school students, where they used green tree leaves as an alternative to the original sedge plant.
In this context, Yasmine Khater, the school’s science teacher, explained that the steps of the experiment began by boiling the leaves, then grinding them, filtering them, and shaping them into the shape of ancient papyrus leaves.
Khater pointed out that the students then designed beautiful Pharaonic drawings that reflect the spirit of ancient Egyptian civilization.
This experiment took place in an atmosphere full of creativity and the spirit of scientific research under Dr. Mohamed Madbouly, the school’s director. This initiative confirms to the students that science and knowledge can create beauty when presented in the spirit of discovery and experience, in addition to being a source of pride and joy at the near opening of the great cultural edifice, the Grand Egyptian Museum.
