The activities of the third day of the El Gouna Film Festival witnessed the remarkable presence of international star Cate Blanchett, who caught the attention from the moment she arrived on the red carpet, where she was received by businessman Naguib Sawiris, founder of the festival, amid a great welcome from the audience and the lenses of the media.

Blanchett’s visit to El Gouna is one of the most prominent surprises of the current session, especially since she is one of the most important Hollywood stars who has won two Oscars, in addition to a huge record of international cinematic works that have made her a symbol of elegance and professionalism in the film industry.
Cate Blanchett had begun her artistic career in Cairo, where she participated in one of the scenes of the movie “Caboria” with the late star Ahmed Zaki in 1990, during her studies at university, before she returned to Australia and began her global acting journey that led her to artistic glory.
Cate Blanchett’s presence at the El Gouna Film Festival came to celebrate the special screening of her film Father, Mother, Sister, Brother, as part of the activities of the eighth session of the festival, which is currently being held in El Gouna.
Blanchett appeared in an elegant and sophisticated look, and was accompanied at the moment of her arrival by businessman Naguib Sawiris, founder of the festival, and Amr Mansi, executive director, where she was received with great warmth by the attendees and photographers, in appreciation of her international standing and her remarkable participation in the festival.
This is Blanchett’s first appearance in Egypt, and represents a milestone in the history of the El Gouna Film Festival, which year after year attracts prominent stars from the international scene, and strengthens its position as one of the most important film festivals in the region.
