Yesterday, Sohag General Hospital received a 17-year-old girl suffering from severe poisoning after ingesting a substance suspected to be rat poison, in an attempt to end her life.
A girl’s suicide attempt in Sohag
Major General Dr. Hassan Abdel Aziz, Director of Sohag Security, received a notification from the warden of the Sohag First Department, stating that a report had been received from Sohag General Hospital about the arrival of a girl named Skha A – 17 years old, with severe abdominal pain, claiming that she had taken a toxic substance with the intention of committing suicide.
The police officers moved to the hospital, and upon examination and questioning of the girl’s family, it was found that she had ingested the toxic substance inside her home as a result of going through a psychological crisis. The necessary medical aid was provided to her, and she was placed under medical observation. The necessary report on the incident is being drawn up, in preparation for presenting it to the competent investigation authorities to initiate investigations.
The Cairo 24 website warns against suicide, asking those who have such thoughts to go to a psychiatrist in an attempt to solve their problems, what they may be exposed to, and to think positively about the continuity of life that God has given to man. Cairo 24 hopes to go to the specialist doctor and present themselves to those concerned to solve the problem.
