Bahrain’s junior billiards national team player, Hussein Marum, made his way to the final match in the junior nine-ball singles competition after losing first to the Egyptian Michel Youssef by six games to seven in the Arab Billiards and Snooker Championship in Cairo, crossing the waves to safely reach his ship at the Champions Marina.
The captain of the ship, Marum, regained his focus and excelled in catching the Arab goal through a strong comeback in the other six matches.
He overcame, respectively, the Qatari Khaled Al Tamimi by six runs to one half, the Emirati Salman Al Zaabi by six runs to no return, and the Libyan Muhammad Saed by six runs to two halves. He met again with the Egyptian Michel Youssef and hunted him down by eight runs to a half to qualify for the semi-finals. He surpassed the Kuwaiti Ahmed Al-Tattan by eight runs to six. In the final match, the capabilities of the Cub of the Kingdom exploded against the Kuwaiti Mohammed. Al-Husseinan won nine runs against three.
President of the Bahraini Billiards and Darts Federation, Munther Al-Basri, expressed his pride in winning the Kingdom’s first gold medal in the tournament, praising Marum’s abilities and his keenness on the preparation process before leaving for Cairo, stressing that his talent qualifies him to compete in major tournaments in the world.
