Huawei is preparing to launch its new version of the foldable phones, Huawei Nova Flip S, which appears to carry improvements beyond just colors or storage capacities. According to recent leaks, the phone will come with a more advanced processor that will give it stronger performance and better stability.
New processor boosts performance
According to the leaker known on the Weibo platform as @SuperDimensional, the Nova Flip S phone may be powered by either the Kirin 8020 or Kirin 8030 processor, and it is reported that the Kirin 8020 processor, which is also used in the Nova 14 Ultra phone, includes a central processing unit that includes a main core with a speed of 2.285 GHz, and three cores with a speed of 2.05 GHz, And four small cores with a speed of 1.3 GHz. If the Kirin 8030 processor is used, this will mean an additional improvement in performance and energy efficiency.
For comparison, the previous version of the Nova Flip was powered by the Kirin 8000 processor, whose core speed reaches 2.4 GHz, and although the numbers may seem close, upgrading to the 8020 or 8030 would provide smoother performance, better heat control, and greater stability in connection to fifth generation networks, even as the phone remains in the middle category.
Familiar design with new touches
Leaks indicate that the exterior design of the phone will remain close to the previous generation, but Huawei will offer new colors and minor hardware modifications, and the available colors are expected to include: “Sakura” pink, white, sky blue, glossy black, sandy black, and green.
A small external screen and a large main screen
Since the design will not change much, the phone is likely to retain its 2.14-inch square external screen next to the camera unit, while the internal main screen will remain 6.94 inches as in the previous version.
System and expected availability
The Nova Flip S is expected to run HarmonyOS 5.1 straight out of the box, and will be officially unveiled during the last months of 2025. So far, Huawei has not issued any additional official details, but confirmed information indicates that the phone will try to combine elegance and smooth performance in the category of foldable phones.
