Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, confirmed that the number of new applications that were accepted to benefit from the housing financing program options with its various options reached 2,322 applications until the third quarter of the current year 2025, with a financing value amounting to 149 million and 679 thousand Bahraini dinars, indicating that the total number of applications received since the launch of the housing financing program options in the year 2022 reached more than 18 thousand applications, 10,504 housing applications were accepted, and financing was disbursed at a value amounting to 630 million and 139 thousand Bahraini dinars until the third quarter of the current year 2025, indicating that 81% of financing applications are applications converted from traditional services to immediate financing options.
Minister Al-Rumaihi indicated that “real estate facilitation” financing is at the forefront of the most popular financing options among beneficiaries of financing programs, as the number of applications received under this option exceeded more than 10,000 applications.
In a related context, Minister Al-Rumaihi said that the “Facility +” financing, which was launched in April 2025, is very popular with citizens, as more than 600 applications have been submitted to obtain this financing, given the benefits supported by the program and the diversity of financing purposes, including raising the financing ceiling to 81 thousand and 91 thousand dinars according to two paths of the payment plan, in addition to the monthly installment not being subject to periodic updating, which encouraged citizens to take the decision. To buy suitable housing.
Minister Al-Rumaihi praised the cooperation of partners in commercial banks and real estate development companies in supporting the housing financing program, which is reflected in the high rates of demand for these options, by providing facilities and offers along with the speed and ease of procedures, enabling the citizen to complete his procedures without lengthy waiting periods, and by using the latest real estate platforms “Bayti” which provides all the citizen’s needs under one roof, starting with the roaming service. Default on the property up to the stage of reserving the home, paying the down payment, and completing financing procedures.
Minister Al-Rumaihi also pointed out the role of government land development rights program projects in increasing rates of demand for financing programs, through successful partnerships represented by the “Suhail” housing project in the Al-Lawzi suburb, the “Al-Naseem Neighborhood” project in Salman City, the “Al-Wadi” project in the Al-Buhair region, and the “Houra Sanad” project in the Southern Governorate, in addition to a project to provide more than 3,000 housing units in Khalifa City, in addition to residential projects. The Minister confirmed that the number of applicants and beneficiaries of financing services will hopefully witness an increase during the last quarter of the current year 2025, in light of the increasing demand from citizens to benefit from the immediate program options, and the expansion of partnership programs with the private sector to provide housing units whose value is consistent with the financing and exclusively for citizens with housing applications.
