Member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chair of the Committee for Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance in the Sports Field, Dr. Sheikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, witnessed the training of the Bahrain girls’ futsal team as part of its preparations to participate in the “Asian Games” competitions. During the visit, Sheikha Hessa conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, President The Bahrain Olympic Committee, to the members of the technical and administrative staff and the players of the national team, praising their great efforts and serious preparations to represent the Kingdom in the best way in this major continental event.
She also visited the Bahrain girls’ volleyball team participating in the tournament, where she was informed of the progress of its technical preparations and the level of general readiness of the team before the start of the competitions. Sheikha Hessa expressed her great confidence in Bahraini girls and their ability to provide honorable levels and positive results that reflect the remarkable development of women’s sports in the Kingdom, stressing that participation in this tournament represents an important opportunity to highlight national talent and raise Bahrain’s name high in this Asian event.
Her Excellency concluded by emphasizing the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s support for all participating national teams, noting that empowering women athletes represents a fundamental axis in the committee’s vision to enhance gender balance in the sports field and achieve more achievements at the regional and continental levels.
