Agence France-Presse reported that a delegation from the Hamas movement will meet Egyptian and Qatari officials today in Cairo, to discuss ways to continue the fragile ceasefire in Gaza, according to what a source close to the negotiations said.

Yesterday, the Israeli occupation army launched dozens of raids on Hamas sites throughout the Gaza Strip, after two Israeli soldiers were killed by gunmen, while Tel Aviv claimed that the movement violated the truce.
For its part, Hamas denied knowledge of the attack, stressing that it was Israel that violated the ceasefire agreement concluded on October 10.
The source indicated that the delegation, headed by movement leader Khalil Al-Hayya, will discuss dozens of air strikes that killed dozens of people in the Gaza Strip yesterday.
Egypt and Qatar have long played the role of mediator in indirect talks between Israel and Hamas, with the aim of ending the war that broke out following the movement’s unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
The source added that the Hamas delegation will also meet with Egyptian officials to discuss the upcoming internal Palestinian dialogue hosted by Cairo, which aims to unify the Palestinian factions.
