Bahrain’s number one star in mixed martial arts, Hamzah Al Kooheji, is preparing to write a new chapter in his distinguished career, when he fights a historic fight for the BRAVE CF world bantamweight championship title within the upcoming BRAVE CF 100 event, which the Kingdom of Bahrain will host at the Khalifa City Sports Hall on November 7, 2025.
For nearly a decade, Al-Kooheji carried the flag of Bahrain within the ring of the Bahraini BRAVE Combat Federation, embodying the spirit of leadership and national pride, and he was then known as the “Pride of Bahrain” in the sport of mixed martial arts. Today, he stands on the cusp of achieving the biggest dream in his career: winning gold on home soil and among his fans.
On this occasion, the star Bahraini mixed martial arts fighter, Hamza Al Kooheji, said: “I will continue to fight. I dream about this every night. My name symbolizes one of the greatest fighters in the history of Bahraini mixed martial arts, and Hamza means the lion. I am the best in the bantamweight division, and I can face any fighter in this weight.”
Since his first appearance in the inaugural edition of the BRAVE CF Championship in 2016, Al Kooheji has become one of the pillars of the organization and a symbol of its identity, having fought 11 fights during which he achieved 9 well-deserved victories.
On the other hand, the head of the Bahraini Brave Organization, Mr. Mohammed Shahid, said: “Hamza did not come from a professional background in any martial art; neither jiu-jitsu, nor kickboxing, nor Muay Thai. He made himself, and learned everything from scratch, relying on his determination, intelligence, and unbreakable persistence.”
Shahid stressed that the moment has come to appreciate the role that Al-Kooheji played in building the legacy of BRAVE CF, saying: “It is time for everyone to know who Hamza Al-Kooheji is, the fighter who left the largest mark on the region.”
Al-Kooheji’s journey was exceptional by all standards, as he worked his way to the top without having the usual academic experience in martial arts, becoming an example of determination and ambition.
Hamza Al Kooheji is in his second fight for the world title, after he was very close to achieving it in 2022, and he returns this time supported by great public enthusiasm and high national hopes.
BRAVE CF 100 is a milestone in the history of the Bahraini Brave Organization, which was launched from Bahrain to the world, and the event may carry within it a historic coronation moment for one of its first sons.
