The Official Gazette recently published a memorandum from the Minister of Housing, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, addressed to the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, relating to granting the status of public benefit to the Mohamed Naguib Axis project in Alexandria Governorate. This project is considered one of the works that aims to promote development and improve infrastructure, in the context of the state’s efforts to develop the road network and improve traffic movement, which contributes to solving the problems that citizens suffer from.

This initiative comes within the framework of the plan of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities to create new axes that enhance and regulate traffic movement, as the Muhammad Naguib Corridor project aims to implement presidential mandates related to the development of this area, and the Central Reconstruction Agency is working to finance and implement the project in accordance with the national vision for development in the country, which shows the government’s commitment to promoting urban development.

Survey studies of the project showed the presence of lands and properties that need to be expropriated, including a sewage station that obstructs the path of the axis. The Survey Directorate carried out comprehensive surveying work, and the necessary plans to complete the project were prepared based on the information provided, which reflects the importance of the project as an essential part of the state’s approved development plan.

The value of the compensation required to expropriate land and real estate related to the project is estimated at approximately 600 million pounds, according to what was estimated by the Egyptian General Survey Authority, as work on this project requires taking legal steps to obtain the necessary approvals to achieve the desired development, which ensures business continuity without obstacles.

In conclusion, a proposed decision was prepared by the Council of Ministers to give the project a public benefit status, while emphasizing the importance of seizing the lands necessary to implement the axis, as this represents a vital step in implementing the future vision of the state, by providing integrated designs that secure the development process and contribute to improving the quality of life for citizens.
