Today, Friday, October 17, gasoline and diesel prices topped search engines, after the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced the decision of the Automatic Pricing Committee for Petroleum Products to raise gasoline and diesel prices in Egypt by about two pounds, starting today.
This comes in line with expectations of a second increase during the current year 2025, in order to fill the gap in support for petroleum products.
Gasoline and diesel prices today, Friday, October 17
The increase, as of six o’clock this morning, corresponding to 10/17/2025, in the prices of petroleum products was as follows:
- 95 gasoline for 21 pounds/liter instead of 19 pounds/liter
- Gasoline 92 is priced at 19.25 pounds/liter instead of 17.25 pounds/liter
- Gasoline 80 is priced at 17.75 pounds/liter instead of 15.75 pounds/liter
- Diesel costs 17.5 pounds/liter instead of 15.5 pounds/liter
- Gas supply for cars is 10 pounds/m3 instead of 7 pounds/m3
Following this increase, the government took its decision to stabilize the selling prices of petroleum products in the local market without a general minimum increase.
