After defeating Guinea-Bissau in the last round, the Egyptian national team achieved a special record for the first time in 91 years, with the Pharaohs qualifying for the World Cup finals without suffering any defeat in the qualifiers.
During the World Cup qualifiers, the Egyptian national team played 10 matches, winning 8 matches, drawing only two matches, and did not suffer any losses.
On the other hand, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Sports, said that what has been achieved in Egypt during the last eight years is equivalent to what has been achieved in more than 70 years, noting that the new republic is a true model of development and progress in various fields, including sports.
Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, confirmed that the Egyptian national team’s arrival in the World Cup twice in recent years reflects the great development witnessed by Egyptian football, adding: God willing, from now on, we will be present in every World Cup session, and the Egyptian flag will continue to fly in international forums.
