Financial: 17.5 billion dinars, the balance of foreign direct investment in the second quarter on an annual basis

The Ministry of Finance and National Economy revealed the growth of the total foreign investment balance by 5.4% on an annual basis during the second quarter of 2025, bringing the total foreign direct investment balance to 17.5 billion dinars.

This came in the separation economic report of Bahrain for the second quarter of 2025 through its website www.mofne.gov.bh, where the GDP recorded a growth of 2.5% during the second quarter of 2025, driven by the growth of non -oil activities by 3.5%, according to the initial data of the national accounts issued by the Information and E -Government Authority.

With regard to the GDP at current prices, GDP achieved 2.3%, supported by the growth of non -oil activities by 5.3%.

The report highlighted the pivotal role of non -oil activities in advancing economic growth, as its contribution to GDP reached 85.2% at fixed prices during the second quarter of this year.

In terms of performing non -oil activities, professional, scientific and technical activities recorded the highest growth rate of 12%during the second quarter of 2025, followed by wholesale and retail trade activities by 6.7%, then real estate activities by 4.7%.

The activities of residence and food services also grew by 4.6%, and the activity of information and communication by 3.6%. In addition, the construction activities, financial activities and insurance activities grew by 2.7% and 2.4%, respectively. While manufacturing activity witnessed a slight growth of 1.0%.

Bahrain continues to achieve remarkable progress in a number of international economic and development indicators, which reflects the success of its strategies in economic diversification and enhancing the business environment, as Bahrain exported the Arab countries in adhering to the law and order, according to the results of the Gallop International Safety Report for 2025, where the report indicated that 90% of individuals feel safe at night, which makes the Kingdom among the ten most secure countries.

The Kingdom achieved the highest improvement in the countries of North Africa and Western Asia, where its performance was improved by 10 centers in the 2025 Global Innovation Index issued by the World Intellectual Property Organization “WIPO”, and the Kingdom ranked fifth globally in the “Greenfield” foreign investment index 2025, and also in the financial skills index in accordance with the classification of global talents 2025 issued by the International Institute for Administrative Development “IMD”.
