The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the statements made by US President Donald Trump in the Knesset, describing them as “false accusations and irresponsible allegations” against Iran.
Trump and Iran
The ministry said in an official statement that the United States, as the largest producer of terrorism and the main supporter of the Zionist entity, does not have any authority to bring charges against others.
The statement affirmed that the Iranian people keep the hero of Iran, the martyr Qassem Soleimani, with an unforgiving and unforgettable memory of his murder, considering that the false allegations regarding the Iranian nuclear program do not justify the American-Israeli crime of attacking Iranian territory.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry concluded its statement by saying that Trump’s declaration of his desire for peace and dialogue completely contradicts Washington’s hostile and criminal behavior against the Iranian people.
Trump’s statements before the Knesset regarding Iran
US President Donald Trump stated in his speech before the Knesset that he wants a peace agreement with Tehran after the United States joined with Israel to launch strikes on nuclear sites in Iran earlier this year.
Trump said: It would be great to reach a peace agreement. Wouldn’t that satisfy you? Wouldn’t that be nice…and I think they would want that too.
He continued: “We are ready when you are ready” to reach an agreement. If Iran had possessed nuclear weapons, the Arab countries would not have felt comfortable concluding the agreement that we have now.
