English reports confirmed that Omar Marmoush, the star of Egypt and Manchester City, will be absent from the next Pharaohs camp, after he continued to be injured in the knee ligaments he suffered during the Burkina Faso confrontation last month in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Marmoush’s absence from Manchester City
The Manchester Eveng News newspaper explained that Marmoush will miss the next City match against Brentford in the English Premier League next Sunday, with his expected return on October 18 against Everton, which means excluding him from the Egypt national team list during the international stopping period.
The effect of the injury on the team
Marmoush’s absence is a blow to the Egyptian team, which is preparing to face Djibouti on October 8 in Morocco, then Guinea Bissau on October 12 in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. The Pharaohs are sufficient to beat Djibouti to ensure the official qualification for the World Championship for the fourth time in their history.
