In its eighth session, the El Gouna Film Festival honored festivals expert, Intishal Al Tamimi, in recognition of his prominent role in establishing the festival and his great contributions to developing and supporting the Arab film industry. Al Tamimi received the honor from engineer Naguib Sawiris during the closing ceremony held in El Gouna, amidst a wide presence of art stars and filmmakers.
Al Tamimi is considered one of the most prominent names in film festival management in the region, as he previously served as director of the El Gouna Film Festival since its inception, and contributed to consolidating its position as one of the most important film festivals in the Middle East, before recently joining the festival’s international advisory board.
This honor came to confirm the festival administration’s appreciation for Al Tamimi’s career and his role in building a professional system that helped support Arab filmmakers and expand the horizons of their presence in international forums.
The festival concluded by honoring a number of the most prominent names in the world of cinema and announcing the winners of the awards for the eighth session, which witnessed screenings of more than 80 films from various parts of the world.
