Within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education’s keenness to protect the health of students and workers in educational institutions, the Ministry issued a package of preventive instructions binding on directorates, departments and schools, to ensure a safe educational environment and limit the spread of infectious diseases.
The Ministry stressed the need to raise the level of preparedness within schools, and to deal immediately with any suspicious cases, while fully adhering to daily preventive measures.
Strict instructions to enhance health prevention within schools
The instructions issued included the following:
Preparing a preventive plan within each school to deal with suspected cases or health emergencies.
Emphasis on general hygiene and good ventilation in classrooms and bathrooms.
Ensure the availability of running water and soap on a daily basis in all schools.
Implementing a school vaccination plan against meningitis and bilateral meningitis for target groups.
Monitoring the health status of students daily, and conducting immediate detection of any suspected cases.
The Ministry confirmed that these measures come within a comprehensive plan to proactively deal with infectious diseases, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Population, stressing that the safety of students is a top priority to ensure the continuation of the academic year without disruption.
