Mohamed Saada, Secretary General of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and President of the Port Said Chamber, confirmed today, Thursday, that the East Port Said region is considered the first meeting point between Egypt and the European Union, and it is a region fully prepared to receive European investments and depart from them to Egypt, Africa and the Arab countries.

Saada pointed out, during his participation in the Egyptian delegation accompanying the President of the Republic, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in the economic event accompanying the first Egyptian-European summit in the Belgian capital, Brussels, that the president’s visit to Brussels is a great addition, especially since the land in Egypt is paved for this important and historical partnership, explaining that there was talk about a number of files that attract investments from both sides, most notably: green hydrogen and the automobile industry. And its components, solar panels, and increasing the volume of Egyptian exports to European Union countries through partnership between Egyptian companies and Europe to access the markets of European Union countries.
He stressed that Egypt’s high credit rating, low inflation rates, and the huge infrastructure that Egypt implemented recently were a message of reassurance to investors in European Union countries. The European Union also praised the climate in Egypt as it stands on solid and fertile ground and is a vital gateway for access to Africa.
He explained that one of the first projects that will be completed in the coming period is the electrical interconnection project between Egypt and the European Union, through the signing of the electrical interconnection contract between Egypt and Greece, which will then be followed by the interconnection between Greece and the European Union countries. He pointed out that the President stressed Egypt’s readiness to be a window to Africa and the Arab countries as it possesses promising economic regions and attractive elements for European investment.

The Secretary-General of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce expressed his happiness with Egypt’s prestigious position during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the positive view he felt from the European Union towards Egypt, and their vision that Egypt is taking steady steps, stressing that the visit is successful and augurs well.
