The Ministry of Housing, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority, has provided new facilities for settling and paying late financial dues to customers through various activities designated by the Ministry.
The new facilities are provided to the occupiers of residential, administrative and professional units, commercial shops, and plots of land of various types and sizes (residential – commercial – service – investment – industrial – legalization and regularization lands, etc.), in addition to villas and beach units belonging to the Authority.
Facilitations include an exemption from delay fines according to specific rates for a period of 3 months starting from the date of the announcement in the daily newspapers and include:
- 70% exemption from late fines in the event of full payment of late dues.
- 50% exemption from fines if 50% of late dues are paid.
- An additional 10% exemption for those who pay within 30 days from the date of the announcement.
The Urban Communities Authority stipulated that citizens benefit from these facilities only once during the period of its implementation, and in accordance with the controls and conditions stipulated in the decision.
The Communities Authority’s decision comes in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to make it easier for citizens and investors, and to stimulate investment in various sectors, especially the real estate sector.
