With the beginning of each academic year, the issue of students ’transportation and the means of transportation used to transfer them to and from schools are renewed. While many parents are keen to choose a safe means, some resort to unlicensed drivers on the pretext of low cost or ease of arrangement, this option may carry grave risks to children, as well as being an explicit violation of the law.

The law is clear and the punishment is deterrent

The Bahraini Traffic Law stressed the need to obtain an official license to practice the transportation activity for a fee, including the delivery of students.

The penalties stipulate: imprisonment for a period of six months, or a fine between 100 and 1000 dinars, or both.

The competent authorities also have the authority to stop the vehicle or prevent the driver from practicing the activity, in order to preserve the system and the safety of road users.

Why is the license important?

Obtaining the license is not just an administrative procedure, but rather aims to:

Ensure that the driver is qualified and free from serious violations.

Ensure that the vehicle is identical to safety conditions and standards.

Protecting students from any security or traffic risks.

An invitation to adhere to

In light of the increasing traffic accidents and the growing risk associated with unlicensed transportation services, the need for parents and drivers alike is highlighted to the laws regulating. The commitment to the license is in essence an obligation to protect the lives of students and ensure that they reach their schools safely.
