Confirming to Cairo 24… a committee of antiquities inspects the restoration project of El-Shenawy Palace in Mansoura| photo

Dr. Diaa Zahran, Head of the Islamic, Coptic and Jewish Antiquities Sector, and Moamen Othman, Head of the Restoration and Projects Sector, inspected the progress of work on the ongoing restoration projects in both King Fouad I Palace in the city of Kafr El-Sheikh, and the Palace of Muhammad Bey El-Shenawy in the city of Mansoura.

During the visit, the completion rates and the restoration and maintenance work carried out at each site were reviewed, with emphasis on the speedy completion of the work according to the specified time plan, ensuring the preservation of the historical and architectural value of the two palaces.

The leaders were accompanied during the tour by the head of the Central Administration of Antiquities of Lower Egypt and Sinai, and a number of directors and inspectors of the relevant archaeological areas, who reviewed the implemented stages of the restoration projects and the most prominent technical challenges that were overcome to ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy in implementation.

These visits come within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ keenness to continue field follow-up of restoration and development projects, affirming its commitment to preserving and preserving the Egyptian architectural heritage for future generations.

An official source at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities previously confirmed to Cairo 24 that an antiquities delegation visited the Palace of Muhammad Bey El-Shennawi, in implementation of the directives of the ministry’s executive leadership regarding the necessity of following up on archaeological projects on a regular basis, and monitoring completion rates in the field to ensure adherence to timetables and achieving the highest level of efficiency in restoration and maintenance work.
