A joint committee from the center and city of Maragha, the Department of Free Treatment in the Health Directorate, and the Maragha Police Station carried out an expanded field campaign on medical facilities in the villages of Fazara and Banawit, affiliated with the Maragha Center, within the framework of the directives of Major General Dr. Abdel Fattah Serag El-Din, Governor of Sohag, and Dr. Amr Dowidar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in the governorate, to intensify oversight of private medical facilities and ensure that they meet the requirements. Licenses to preserve the health and safety of patients.
Sohag health campaigns
The committee’s membership included representatives of the concerned authorities in the center and city of Maragha, the Free Treatment Department of the Health Directorate, the Maragha Police Station, and the Village Council, under the supervision of the deputy heads of the center.
The campaign’s work in the village of Fazara resulted in the closure and waxing of five unlicensed medical facilities, which included two medical analysis laboratories, a physical therapy center, and two dental and pediatric clinics.
The campaign in the village of Banawit also resulted in the closure and waxing of four violating medical facilities, including a medical dispensary that includes two physical therapy and dental clinics, in addition to two internal medicine and dental clinics, and an unlicensed medical analysis laboratory.
The necessary legal measures were taken against violators, with an emphasis on the continuation of monitoring campaigns in all villages and areas of the center and city of Maragheh to follow up on medical facilities’ compliance with approved health controls and standards.
