The border between Afghanistan and Pakistan witnessed a dangerous military escalation on Saturday, after violent clashes broke out between Pakistani forces and Taliban forces, according to media reports.
According to Afghan reports, Taliban forces entered and took control of several military sites of the Pakistani army during the ongoing battles along the Durand border line.
Destroying two Pakistani military sites
Reports claimed that two Pakistani military sites were destroyed, one in Kunar Province and the other in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Earlier, the Pakistani Taliban movement claimed responsibility for simultaneous attacks targeting security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, resulting in the killing of 23 people, including 20 security personnel and 3 civilians.
The Pakistani authorities said that one of the most prominent attacks occurred in the Dera Ismail Khan area, where gunmen attacked a police training center, killing 7 policemen, before security forces were able to neutralize five of the attackers and seize explosive belts and quantities of ammunition in their possession.
