In recent months, Bahrain has witnessed an intense activity of the civil defense men, as they started more than 43 various fire accidents that included residential houses, warehouses, vehicles, and farms, some of which resulted in injuries and deaths, while firefighting and rescue teams succeeded in controlling most of them in record time and reducing their losses.
Among the most prominent incidents, civil defense men managed to save four people who were trapped on the roof of a residential building in the Nuwaidrat area after a massive fire broke out in the building.
The Saar area also witnessed a tragic accident, when a fire broke out in a house, and resulted in the death of a ten -year -old girl as a result of suffocation of smoke. In Samahij, the teams managed to save 6 people from their burning house, while a family member died. In Qalali, the rescue teams succeeded in removing six people safely from a house where the fire was broke out, in one of the most prominent rapid intervention operations.
These and other cases reveal the size of the risks faced by the civil defense during the last period, and reflect the readiness of the difference in dealing with various types of fires, whether in crowded residential areas, large commercial warehouses, or even public streets.
Official statistics
Official statistics issued by the Security Magazine of the Ministry of Interior revealed that during the year 2024, the civil defense began about 2250 fires, while the national ambulance dealt with 399 fires in the same period.
For the current year 2025, the civil defense began in January 189 reports, in February 164 reports, in March 179 reports, the number in April increased to 210 reports, then 268 reports in May, 218 reports in June, and finally 222 reports in July.
As for the National Ambulance, he dealt with 27 accidents in January, 18 in February, 30 in March, 35 in April, 62 in June, and 31 in July, where he took responsibility for assisting and transporting the injured to receive immediate medical care.
Inspection campaigns
In addition to the extinguishing and rescue efforts, the General Administration of Civil Defense continued to enhance its preventive and awareness role, since 2013 has implemented inspection campaigns on tourist restaurants, hotels, commercial and industrial buildings.
The number of inspection campaigns from the beginning of 2024 to November of the same year reached 2517.
The administration also carried out 336 fake evacuation operations during the same year, compared to 268 fake evacuation operations in 2023, with the aim of raising the level of readiness to deal with various emergencies.
In the field of training, 163 training courses have been organized from the beginning of 2024 to November, 2194 people from ministries, private sector workers and home and householders have benefited, with the aim of spreading safety culture and enhancing awareness of ways to deal with fires.

The efforts made by the civil defense and national ambulances in the face of fires is an example to be followed in dedication and sincerity, as they face fire in the most difficult circumstances, and they venture into their lives in order to save lives and protect property, as during the recent incidents they proved a high response and efficiency in controlling fires, carrying out rescue operations, and dealing with emergency cases with great professionalism.
These efforts deserve all appreciation, as civil defense and national ambulances represent the first line of the security of society and its safety, and reflect an honorable image of giving and sincerity in serving the country.
