Bin Matar Building hosts the retrospective exhibition of Our Lady of Giving Safia Ali Kanoo

Bin Matar Building – Memory of the Place hosts the retrospective exhibition of Lady Safia Ali Kanoo, a pioneer in various cultural, social and economic forums, whose contributions and the limits of her giving have gone beyond her humanitarian efforts at all levels. Not only that, but it took on profound dimensions that varied in its artistic styles.

This exhibition comes to shed light on her career, her artistic station, her achievements, and her indelible humanitarian impact, celebrating a comprehensive and immortal journey in more than 25 paintings that vary between classics and modernity. The exhibition will also include a short film that tells her biography. This will be within the framework of the cultural season of the Sheikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research, “As Much as the People of Determination”, on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at seven o’clock in the evening, in Amara bin Matar. The exhibition will continue until November 12, 2025.

Anyone who examines the career of the late Safia Kanoo realizes how she devoted her community projects to include decades of endless development, cultural, and charitable initiatives, and her keenness to encourage entrepreneurship and empower productive families and craftswomen, in addition to her contribution to establishing a number of health and charitable facilities, including the Safia Ali Kanoo wing for children at the Salmaniya Medical Complex, and two wings for the elderly, to… There are mosques and art centers bearing her name, including the Safiya Ali Kanoo Center for Arts and Crafts.

It is noteworthy that the late Safia Kanoo received appreciation from the wise leadership for her outstanding efforts. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, awarded her the First Class Medal of Competence in the years 2001 and 2012, in appreciation of her distinguished contribution in serving the nation. She also received many honors for her promotional efforts in supporting the youth, women and childhood sectors.
