The preliminary start of the Third Asian Youth Games witnessed a strong and exciting start, which reflected the high readiness and competitive spirit of the participating players, as the first day was characterized by distinguished technical performances in 5 sports: handball, kabaddi, kerash, pencak silat, and volleyball, which gave the tournament a promising start that confirms the amount of preparation and elaborate organization that distinguishes this version of the major continental event.

The Third Asian Youth Games will be held under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, during the period from 22 to 31 October, with the participation of more than 6,000 athletes representing 45 Asian Olympic Committees, competing in 26 sports, the most prominent of which are Isa Sports City, Umm Al Hassam Hall Complex, Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, Bahrain National Stadium, and Sama Bay Coast.

The organization of this historic tournament confirms the advanced position that the Kingdom of Bahrain occupies on the Asian sports map, thanks to the great support of the wise leadership, and the diligent follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, who leads the Supreme Organizing Committee for the tournament, in addition to the efforts of the Executive Committee, which has worked over the past months to secure the best Levels of technical and logistical readiness to receive delegations and athletes.

The first day of the preliminary competitions witnessed the start of five sports in an atmosphere of challenge and enthusiasm, as the handball competitions were held in the Umm Al Hassam Hall, and Hall D in Isa Sports City hosted the Kabaddi competitions for the categories of young men and women, while the Bahrain International Exhibition Center hosted the Kirash competitions for the 65 kg category for males and 70 kg for females, in addition to the preliminary stage of the pencak silat competitions, which It also witnessed an advanced technical level.

As for Hall C in Isa Sports City, it was the scene of volleyball matches in the preliminary round, amidst a crowd presence that gave the competitions a distinctive festive character.

Program of the second introductory day

As for the program of the second day of preliminary competitions, the scope of competitions will witness an expansion with the addition of two new sports, bringing the total to seven sports. Beach volleyball competitions for both male and female categories will begin this evening on the coast of Sama Bay, in a distinctive sea atmosphere specially prepared for this event, amid expectations of exciting competitions between the participating teams and a remarkable public presence.

At the same time, the Bahrain International Exhibition Center is witnessing the start of the teqball competitions in the group stage, starting at ten in the morning, starting with individual competitions for young men, followed by individual competitions for young women, before the competitions conclude with mixed team matches in the evening.
