Bahraini digital projects win in the categories of the Gulf Cooperation Council Digital Government Award

Digital projects presented by the Kingdom of Bahrain won in the categories of the Digital Government Award for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The developed national platform for e-participation presented by the Information and e-Government Authority (bahrain.bh/sharekna) won first place in the category of the best platform for digital participation in the Gulf, and the “My Government” application (MyGov app) presented by the Authority won the Excellence Award in the (best application) category. Comprehensive government), and the digital game (Cyberspace Guardian) presented by the National Center for Cybersecurity won first place in the Gulf in the category (Best Purposeful Digital Game), during a ceremony honoring the winners of the award hosted by the sister State of Kuwait in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

On this occasion, Mr. Muhammad Ali Al-Qaed, CEO of the Information and e-Government Authority, expressed his great pride and pride in the fact that the National e-Participation Platform won first place as the best e-participation platform in the Gulf, and the My Government application won the Excellence Award, stressing that this digital achievement is added to the series of blessed national achievements achieved under the prosperous reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country. The Most High, may God protect and preserve him, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, which are based on continuing to make national efforts to support and enhance digital innovation, to raise the efficiency of digital systems and services provided to citizens and residents.

The CEO, Lieutenant General, congratulated His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communications Technology, on the victory of the national digital projects, which represents a reflection of the sincere efforts made by the committee headed by His Excellency to continue to embrace digital transformation and expand the use of modern technologies to advance government projects.

The platform supports digital participation, public consultation, and their contribution to the development of national services, channels, and projects, in a way that supports community partnership in various sectors, and enhances the role of citizens and residents as partners in decision-making. MyGov app also represents a qualitative leap in the field of providing digital services through a unified channel.

Commander Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Cybersecurity Center, also congratulated “Cyberspace Guardian” for winning the award in the “Best Purposeful Digital Game” category, which supports awareness in the field of cybersecurity to keep pace with rapid technical requirements and developments.

Al-Qaed expressed his pride in the work team at the Information and e-Government Authority for their efforts that contributed to the victory of the developed national platform for e-participation, the excellence of the “My Government” application, and the enhancement of their competitiveness, which led them towards achieving achievement. He stressed the importance of the Gulf Digital Government Award, which highlights successful Gulf experiences, supports the exchange of best practices in the field of providing digital services, and enhances Gulf efforts in achieving digital integration. And joint cooperation in advancing the Gulf information and communications technology sectors regionally and globally.

It is worth noting that the Digital Government Award for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries aims to achieve a number of goals, the most prominent of which is creating a culture of positive competition among the GCC countries in the field of digital government, and appreciating and celebrating Gulf government efforts in the field of improving the quality of life and enhancing the GCC countries’ global competitiveness.
