The Bahraini Deaf Society achieved an honorable international artistic achievement after winning the largest awards at the Gesture Region International Theater Festival, which was held in Moscow – Russia, for its distinguished presentation of the play “The Stolen Voice”, with the participation of a group of artists belonging to the countryside theatre.
The association won:
Best Animated Show Award for the play Stolen Audio.
Best Direction Award for director Aqeel Al Majed for all participating categories.
The association also received several nominations in the international competition, including: nomination for best theatrical team, nomination for best actor in a leading role by the artist Taher Muhammad, and nomination for best actor in a supporting role by the artist Sayed Issa Al-Wadaei.
This work is the result of distinguished cooperation between the Bahraini Deaf Society – the producing party – headed by Mr. Sayed Hassan Al-Ghuraifi, and a group of members of the Al-Rif Theater who contributed with their artistic expertise to the success of the experience and highlighting its creative and human value.

Director Aqeel Al-Majed expressed his pride in this international coronation, pointing out that this success was the result of fine artistic and humanitarian cooperation between the Bahraini Deaf Society and members of the Al-Reef Theater, stressing that the play carried a sublime message confirming that the language of creativity goes beyond the limits of hearing and speech.
