That 130 Bahraini schools – including 125 government and 5 private – were able to obtain this classification from among 954 schools representing 60 countries around the world, is a number that sums up a comprehensive success story: a lofty royal vision that established education as a pillar of national construction, direct support from the wise leadership that made smart education a strategic choice, and field efforts by teachers, administrators and officials who carried the torch of development with faith and passion. This is the culmination. A deep analysis of this achievement reveals that Bahrain has gone beyond the limits of “digital transformation” to “digital mastery,” which is a higher level that requires the ability to manage technology tools with awareness and sustainable educational planning. The issue is no longer limited to introducing devices into classrooms, but rather to re-engineering the educational environment so that technology becomes a tool for critical thinking, creativity, and global interaction. Progress from third place globally in 2024 to first place in 2025, It is an indication of the maturity of the Bahraini experience and its ability to rapidly develop itself, which demonstrates the existence of a flexible educational system that responds to challenges and is not satisfied with temporary success.
However, maintaining this global distinction requires confronting the greatest challenge: digital illiteracy. Technology, no matter how advanced it is, remains worthless if a person does not own it and manage it consciously. What is required today is to double the qualitative training programs for teachers and students on digital thinking, develop a culture of safe and responsible use of technology, and enhance integration between academic education and the digital labor market, so that Bahrain remains at the heart of global competitiveness.
With this achievement, Bahrain has put its mark on the map of international education, and sent a message to the world that when a vision is rooted in state institutions, and when leadership bets on people, education becomes the nation’s gateway to the future.
