Yesterday, Bahrain invited the former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, writer and businessman Ambassador Hamad Ahmed Al -Amer, after a rich march with national giving, which spanned nearly five decades in the diplomatic and press corps, which contributed to strengthening the reputation of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the regional and international arenas.
Before his departure, the deceased emphasized that what was achieved by Bahraini diplomacy over the past decades of prominent achievements that contributed to consolidating friendship and cooperation with many countries of the world, and strengthening the Kingdom’s position at the regional and international levels, expressing his pride and pride in the allocation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, on the fourteenth of January of each year to celebrate Bahraini diplomacy A reflection of his Majesty’s interest in the diplomatic work and its leaders, as it represents a pride of all diplomats at home and abroad.

The deceased is one of the most prominent diplomatic cadres in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where he joined the government work in 1969, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the Secretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and in 1986 he was appointed a general consul of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Republic of India “Bombay”, and then in 1992, ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Al -Amer presided over between 1994 and 2002 the Kingdom’s delegation to the meetings of the Committee for the Joint Economic Cooperation with the European Union, in addition to the presidency of the Bahrain delegation for political dialogue meetings with the United States of America and the Arab Gulf states. In 2002, he was appointed as the ambassador of the Gulf Cooperation Council to the European Union in Belgium, and in 2009 he took over the presidency of the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the Turkish Gulf Strategic Dialogue.
The deceased Hamad Al -Amer left a clear imprint in the march of diplomatic work in the Kingdom of Bahrain, since the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was one of the first employees working in it alongside His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, and he graduated in positions until he became a personal secretary for His Highness for 15 years, a stage he described as the archaeological in his career because of his experience and knowledge in foreign policy affairs and diplomatic work.
He later assumed a number of important leadership positions inside and outside the ministry, including: a general consul of the Kingdom of Bahrain in India, where he represented Bahrain throughout India in a period when he was not a resident ambassador and an ambassador for the Kingdom of Bahrain in Iran after the liberation of Kuwait, during a period characterized by good relations with the Gulf states, the director of the Cooperation Council Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then the Director of the Arab Affairs Department, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Regional Affairs and the Cooperation Council, which is the position he assumed after his return from his return from Abroad, and the ambassador of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the European Union in Brussels, where it worked on the file of the free trade agreement between the GCC and the European Union.
He participated in many regional and international conferences, including the Arab League meetings in Tunisia and the Islamic Conference in Pakistan, and contributed to the formulation of important decisions at the United Nations level, most notably the decision to consider Zionism a racist movement.

Ambassador Al -Amer is a model for the Bahraini diplomat, which brought together field experience, extensive relations and national vision, and continued to serve his country after retirement through work and contributing to the development of the private sector, as he took over the management of a telecommunications company in Bahrain at the request of Saudi investors, and achieved remarkable success thanks to its dependence on national competencies.
He told “Al -Watan” about this stage, by saying that he loved reading and sports, and practiced the hobby of “Boxing and weightlifting”, in the small “gym” in his home, saying: “Sometimes things come alone, investors from my family in Saudi Arabia went to me, and they asked me to manage a telecommunications company in Bahrain, it was a new world, and I think I succeeded in it, and we achieve profits because I relied on the Bahraini youth 65% is a burial percentage.
