So Asma Sherif Mounir published a video of herself, through her personal account on the Instagram photo and video exchange site, in which she said: I mean, let’s say it simply, the same people who say “don’t judge me” and “stay open” are the same people who sometimes make fun of someone just because he pronounced “the Qur’an” correctly or tried to be a little observant.
Well, everyone has the right to live his life as he sees it, and it is the right of those who try to be close to God not to be put in a situation of ridicule.
Asma Sherif Mounir continued: I mean, if we say “Live and let others live,” we apply it to everything that is not useful. You will still see that correcting a wrong English word is an important thing, and then you will laugh at someone because he said a religious word correctly. In the end, we all learn from each other, and respect is the basis.
Asma Sharif Mounir added: So let us be kind to each other, and let everyone take his journey with God without making him feel that he is a stranger in the end. Religion is a kind treatment and word, not an approach or a judgment on anyone.
