In this context, it is noteworthy that the Zawiya Cinema Administration was retracted from its decision to prevent the film of the director Mahmoud Yahya, after his continued hunger strike, and the film administration said in an official statement to it: We followed the position of the director Mahmoud Yahya and his continuation of the hunger strike, calling for the presentation of his movie in Zawiya Cinema, and after the director insisted for months to include his movie within the Zawiya program, we contacted the film distribution company and suggested that it be presented in a corner. Director.
The statement continued: The film distribution company informed us of the other theaters’ refusal to present it, and accordingly we decided to display it in a corner in order to ensure the health of the director and his life, not for any other reason, while emphasizing that providing the opportunity of commercial is the responsibility of the distributor, not the show.
She concluded: We emphasize our right to program and choose what we see appropriate for our program, which we have never imagined that we have to include a movie in order to preserve the life of its maker, without the need to justify our decisions of the various parties.
